Editor's Corner: Creativity Beyond the Computer

This is the time of year when my energy and enthusiasm drop. It's damp and chilly here in California. The holidays are long gone, and the regular routine seems so... routine.

This past weekend, I decided that the best way to shake things up was to be creative, but to forget that the digital age exists — I didn't even do anything that required electricity. First, I pulled out paper samples and glue and made some overdue thank-you cards. Then I crafted silly paper toys like this one. Finally, I finished a long-delayed project that involved Elmer's Glue, a box cutter, an old hardback book, and a vintage Hardy Boys cover I fiendishly and perhaps illegally altered six months ago when I began the project. Once I'd washed off the glue, my attitude was much improved.

How do you get back on track when you've had it with the same old same old? Let me know.
