You Too Can Prevent Wrap Rage
Yesterday, the front page of Amazon.com posted a letter from Jeff Bezos regarding wrap rage; that is, the frustration we feel "when trying to free a product from a nearly impenetrable package."

You probably know what Bezos is talking about. I sure do -- I've gnawed on so many plastic clamshells that it's a wonder I still have teeth. I've bloodied my fingers untwisting those steel-wire ties. And when I finally do open the package, I'm surrounded by a teetering pile of useless cardboard that once encased one, small product.

Amazon.com is on a mission to lessen wrap rage (and to improve our environment) by working with manufacturers on new packages that protect products without relying on plastic clamshells, steel-wire ties, and excess material.

I know some of you are package designers. If you're having trouble convincing your clients to make do with less (packaging, that is), tell them how Amazon.com is blazing a new trail we can all follow.

The teeth you save may be your own.
