In her article "Create Your Own Fonts: (http://www.creativepro.com/blog/typetalk-create-your-own-fonts), Ilene Strizver recommends the apps Fontographer, TypeTool, and FontLab Studio. In a comment on that article, a reader mentioned Font Forge as a free font creator.
Has anyone here used any of these apps? I'd love to hear your experiences.

Or FontStruct!
I just came across a free online font editor called FontStruct:
http://fontstruct.fontshop.com
It's the brainchild of the FontShop foundry. Check out some of the things people have created in the Gallery section. Pretty cool!
