Hi there,
I've had a hunt around but I cant find a definitive answer to what I need. I want to create text in the shape of a pair of lips - I have two lines of type - one for the top lip and one for the bottom - what is the best way to do this?
Many thanks in advance.
Getting lippy..
Thomas,
I would get a stock picture of lips from the internet, place it in illustrator, then live trace it to give you some real lip vector shapes to work with.
Start with either top or bottom lip - Type your text and broadly align it within the shape of a lip. Dont worry if it overlaps.
Create outlines from this text - make a copy first!
Now select 'envelope distort' from the Object menu then 'make with mesh'. Play around with the mesh until your text fits within the lips shape.
Hope this gets you going.
