You might try adding a second monitor to your computer, with a lower screen resolution, and arranging the workspace with palettes on the second monitor. The lower resolution will give your eyes the break they need, but moving the cursor from one screen to another may become more interesting. You'll find that the top of the screen is the best place to migrate the cursor from screen to screen, even if the monitors are the same size, because the resolution difference reduces the screen overlap.
