Creating a Silhouette
Written by Douglas Newton on December 28, 2011
Hi Fellow Members,
I'm new to Photoshop and I've just joined Creative Pro. I've recently downloaded the trial version of Adobe CS5.
I'm working of doing a logo for my business to get a promotion going from January 2, 2012. I read tutorials on how to create silhouettes and I tried making a few of some of my fashion photographs.
I got three done so far although I had some difficulty since I'm new at this.
Corel Clip Art
Written by timruah on June 4, 2011
Ages ago I bought CorelDRAW 6 for the Mac. (Yes, the Mac.) The software is hopelessly obsolete, but it came with a great clip art package. The only other program that would ever open them was Illustrator 8 (AI 9 + won't open them). My old Mac with Classic conked out.
Anyone have any idea how I can get these files open? I can't even figure out their extension.
Thanks.

Create spot color PDF with embedded Photoshop duotone.
Written by Geri Bourget on June 5, 2010
I have a duotone that I created in Photoshop (CS2) and placed into a template created in Illustrator (CS2). The placed photoshop file is on its own layer, while the template is on another layer.
I need to send this file to my printer as a PDF, but when I "save as" a pdf, the photoshop file converts to CMYK. The template stays as a PMS. What do I need to do to keep the 2 spot colors of my duotone?

Weird grids that fill up the bounding box around graphics
Written by Leah B on May 4, 2010
Hi,
I'm dealing with a file at work that was created by someone else. There are small graphic shapes in the file with text over top saved as a group. When I print the file, the bounding box around the graphic is filled with a green grid/mesh (the shape is a different color green). I've tried everything I can think of to get rid of this but I can't. It seems to have something to do with the last object that was aligned or copied.

extrude/bevel outlined text in illustrator
Written by Carolyn Bedford on December 11, 2009
I created my text, 2 lines, stroked, filled, textured and tried to extrude and bevel but when selected a red scale line appears around the text ,larger than the text, and the text is selected in red also but the area within the larger square of the red lines is filled with grey and bevels, not the text which is left in red path lines on it. I can't get rid of this outside red scale line so that just the text is selected alone.
COMPUTER HELP--would appreciate your input

Hi (desperately seeking advice on what computer to buy) ,
Need help with color appearance / color settings in Illustrator CS 2
Written by elyssa renert on January 12, 2009
Hi,
I've noticed that sometimes when I choose a color via my color picker or even when I create a new cmyk swatch with specific percentages, the color result does not appear to be what I intended. Often, it's a lot more dull than the bright color I see in my pantone book or even in the color picker window.
Hopefully I am describing this well. Any help to this problem would be very much appreciated thank you!
Creating a shape from text
Written by Thomas Shillingford on November 11, 2008
Hi there,
I've had a hunt around but I cant find a definitive answer to what I need. I want to create text in the shape of a pair of lips - I have two lines of type - one for the top lip and one for the bottom - what is the best way to do this?
Many thanks in advance.
Help with....
Written by zanofsu on July 15, 2008
Can someone, anyone, please tell me how to keep my view in the swatches palette consistent. Everytime I open Illustrator, I have to set the darn thing to list view. Also, the colour book palette, everytime I have to set it to small list view, and then show find field. Is there anyway I can make these settings stick. All of my other palettes appear how and where I want them. I do a lot of spot colour work...
Thanks!
How long have you been using Illustrator?
Written by Terri Stone on April 22, 2008
I'm curious to know more about people's Illustrator experience. How long have you been using it? Would you describe yourself as comfortable with it? I must admit that although I've had the app for years, I've never been as comfortable in it as I am in, say, Photoshop.
