Free Webinar: Designing with Letterpress

Press Release
PaperSpecs and Neenah Paper demonstrate the unique qualities of letterpress through a special poster project designed by Josh Chen in this free webinar entitled “Designing with Letterpress.”
While the whirr of the electronic world grew louder, an equally enthusiastic response emerged – namely a craving for beautiful handmade items that speak directly to our humanity. This trend has created new interest in designing with letterpress.
From Concept through Production
“In 2006, Joshua Chen brought us one of the first glimpses of this handmade revolution in his bestselling book “Fingerprint,” says Sabine Lenz, founder of PaperSpecs.com. “And now as the sequel is well underway, he’s not only agreed to be one of our featured speakers, but is also creating a special poster just for the Designing with Letterpress webinar.”
Webinar Highlights
Beyond receiving this limited edition poster, webinar attendees will go behind the scenes with Chen to observe how the poster was brought to life from concept through production.
Judith Berliner, founder of Full Circle Press and printer of the webinar poster, will also be on hand to discuss the ins and outs of this special printing and finishing process. Berliner’s expertise and love of letterpress make her uniquely qualified to guide us in an overview of the considerations every designer should know:
– what makes letterpress printing so unique
– which papers work well with letterpress
– special effects achievable with letterpress
– when letterpress is the best choice
– why designers should care about letterpress
Nationally recognized designer and author Joshua Chen; award-winning letterpress expert Judith Berliner; an insider’s view of creating with letterpress; and a striking, one-of-a kind poster printed on CRANE’S LETTRA Papers – all this will be available to Designing with Letterpress webinar attendees.
